The Charity Jamboree, Madison’s largest single-day indoor music festival, benefits The Wisconsin Chapter of The National MS Society, The UW Carbone Cancer Center, and The American Diabetes Association.
Steve and Jane Schmieding started Music Can Beat MS, as a grassroots live music event, to help raise funds for the treatment and research of multiple sclerosis. Jane was diagnosed with MS in 1985, and since then, she and her husband Steve have been involved in fundraising and volunteering through the National MS Society. Music Can Beat MS started hosting an annual fundraising event in 2009. In 2012 they teamed up with The People Brothers Band to expand the event and become what is now the Charity Jamboree.
The People Brothers Band is a Rhythm & Soul group who make their home in Madison, WI. They are the winners of the MAMA Award for 2017 Pop/R&B Artist of the Year, 2015 Pop/R&B Album of the Year, & 2013 Blues Album & Blues Song of the Year and the WAMI Award for 2014 R&B Band of the Year.
With the help of many great bands and fans in the Madison music scene, the Charity Jamboree has grown immensely and has been able to raise over $85,000 in the past six years.
